The BYD Qin PLUS fast charging system is centered around the high-voltage distribution unit (PDU) , integrating pre-charge circuits, current sensors, fuses, and other critical components. When a DC fast charger is connected, current flows through the PDU directly to charge the traction battery pack, with the entire process coordinated by the battery management system (BMS) and the charger via real-time CAN bus communication to ensure precise charging parameter matching [11†L3-L4]. In terms of safety control, the BMS monitors the charging gun connection status via the CC2 hardwire while controlling the DC charging contactor within the PDU to switch the current on and off, allowing the system to respond to abnormal conditions within 0.1 seconds and effectively prevent overcharging, short circuits, and other risks [11†L4-L5].
