This product is professionally designed for BYD’s professional personalized brand—the Formula Leopard 8, the brand’s flagship model, serving as a core drivetrain component in the DMO super hybrid off-road platform's front-wheel drive power transmission system, responsible for transmitting the combined power from the front drive motor (200kW/360N·m) and the 2.0T engine (180kW/380N·m) through the E-CVT transmission to the left and right front wheels.
As a professional manufacturing factory specializing in automotive powertrain and drivetrain parts, our left and right front half shaft assemblies strictly follow OE specifications, dedicated to providing the global aftermarket with high-strength, high-precision replacement solutions.
According to vehicle configuration data, the Formula Leopard 8 features a front all-wheel drive (electric 4WD) layout with front and rear double-wishbone independent suspension and a body-on-frame structure. The front motor delivers 200kW with 360N·m torque, with system combined power reaching 550kW (748Ps) and combined torque of 760N·m. As a drive wheel bearing component, the front half shaft must withstand high torque output while accommodating wheel steering and suspension travel—its quality directly affects power transmission efficiency and driving safety.
Compatible with all BYD Formula Leopard 8 trims (including 2025-2026, Zhiyong Luxury/Zhiyong Flagship versions). According to vehicle specifications, the Bao 8 measures 5195×1994×1905mm with a wheelbase of 2920mm, kerb weight of approximately 3296kg, and front track of 1670mm. This product is available in left and right independent units with vehicle-specific design, compatible with original differential and hub mounting positions.
Tools Required:
Lift or jack with safety stands
Socket wrench / Impact wrench
Torque wrench
Special axle nut socket
Ball joint separator
Installation Steps (General Reference):
Lift Vehicle: Raise the front using a lift, remove front wheels
Drain Transmission Fluid: Drain E-CVT fluid into clean container (if required)
Remove Caliper & Disc: Remove front brake caliper and secure to body, remove brake disc
Remove Axle Nut: Use special socket to remove the large axle nut
Disconnect Tie Rod & Lower Arm: Remove tie rod end and lower control arm ball joint connections
Remove Half Shaft: Remove the old half shaft assembly from the differential and hub
Compare & Confirm: Verify new part matches old in length, spline specifications, and structure
Install New Half Shaft: Insert splined end into differential, mount the other end to the hub
Pre-tighten Axle Nut: Install new axle nut, pre-tighten to specified torque
Reinstall Lower Arm & Tie Rod: Reconnect lower control arm ball joint and tie rod end, pre-tighten bolts
Reinstall Disc & Caliper: Reinstall brake disc and caliper, torque to specification
Reinstall Wheel: Reinstall wheel and tighten, lower vehicle
Torque Axle Nut: Torque axle nut to specification with vehicle on ground
Refill Transmission Fluid: Fill with E-CVT fluid to specified level
Road Test: Road test to confirm no noise or vibration
【Professional Tips】:
Ensure the spline is fully inserted into the differential during installation—avoid spline misalignment damaging gears
Recommended to replace both left and right sides as a pair for balanced transmission performance
Wheel alignment inspection is required after half shaft replacement—ensure front wheel alignment parameters meet specifications
