This product is specifically designed for the BYD472QA 1.5L naturally aspirated engine in the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i. It is a rigid duct component in the engine air intake system—the intake hard pipe. The intake hard pipe is the rigid passage connecting the air cleaner outlet to the throttle body (or intake manifold), responsible for smoothly delivering filtered clean air to the engine combustion chamber. It is a core component for ensuring the engine receives adequate and stable air intake.

The Xiaoyun 1.5L naturally aspirated engine in the BYD Qin PLUS DM-i features Atkinson cycle operation with an ultra-high compression ratio of 15.5:1 and a maximum thermal efficiency exceeding 43%. Such a highly efficient engine imposes strict requirements on the sealing performance, smoothness, and stability of the intake system. As the main structural framework of the intake system, the sealing performance of the intake hard pipe directly affects the air-fuel ratio accuracy and engine output power.
