It is a key body exterior panel installed above the front wheel, connecting the front bumper to the door—the Generation 2 front fender assembly. As an important part of BYD's "Dragon Face" design language, the front fender works together with the front bumper, headlights, and hood to shape the smooth lines of the vehicle's front end, serving as the "side profile" of the exterior. It not only determines the streamlined aesthetics of the vehicle's side but also performs multiple functions including covering the wheel, blocking mud splash, and guiding airflow, making it a key exterior component integrating aesthetics and aerodynamics.

The 2025 BYD Qin PLUS DM-i (Generation 2) features upgraded exterior dimensions, measuring 4780mm × 1837mm × 1515mm—an increase of 15mm in length and 20mm in height compared to the previous model. The new model adopts a completely new exterior design language: the headlights are more streamlined and sharper, the trim across the emblem has been changed from chrome to a sleek black finish, the front grille trim has been redesigned, and an active grille shutter system has been added. In the fender area, the new model features an added camera array to accommodate the intelligent driving system, with vertical guide slots designed on both sides of the grille at the fender positions to improve aerodynamic performance. The front fender precisely coordinates with these upgraded components to create an even more impactful front fascia.
