Product Description

This product is professionally designed for BYD’s popular Ocean Series model—the BYD Destroyer 05, serving as a core rotating component in the rear torsion-beam non-independent suspension system that connects the wheel to the rear axle.

As a professional manufacturing factory specializing in automotive wheel hub bearing units, our rear wheel hub unit assembly strictly follows OE specifications, dedicated to providing the global aftermarket with high-precision, high-load-capacity, high-durability replacement solutions.

The rear wheel hub unit assembly integrates the hub, double-row angular contact ball bearing, housing, and sealing structure into a single unit, bearing rear wheel rotational support and axial/radial loads—its quality directly affects driving stability, NVH performance, and tire service life.

Compatible with all BYD Destroyer 05 models (including 2022-2025, 55KM/120KM range versions, Champion Edition, and Glory Edition). According to OEM specifications, the Destroyer 05 features a front-wheel drive (FWD) layout with a rear torsion-beam non-independent suspension—the rear hub unit is a non-driven (passive) wheel bearing unit with a relatively compact structure.

  • The Destroyer 05 features a front-wheel drive layout with rear wheels as driven wheels—the rear hub unit does not bear drive torque and is structurally more compact than the front hub unit.

  • The rear suspension features a torsion-beam non-independent suspension—hub units are mounted at both ends of the torsion beam, enduring irregular road impacts.

    Installation Instructions

     Tools Required:

    • Lift or jack with safety stands

    • Socket wrench / Impact wrench

    • Torque wrench

    • Special puller or press tool (if required)

    • Grease

    Installation Steps (General Reference):

    1. Lift Vehicle: Raise the rear using a lift, remove rear wheels

    2. Remove Brake Caliper: Remove caliper and secure to body to avoid straining brake lines

    3. Remove Brake Disc: Remove brake disc

    4. Remove Speed Sensor: Carefully remove rear wheel ABS speed sensor

    5. Remove Hub Mounting Bolts: Remove bolts securing hub unit to rear axle knuckle/torsion beam

    6. Remove Old Unit: Remove old rear wheel hub unit assembly from mounting position

    7. Clean Mounting Area: Clean mounting surface, ensure no rust or debris

    8. Install New Unit: Install new hub unit to rear axle mounting position, pre-tighten mounting bolts

    9. Torque to Specification: Use torque wrench to tighten mounting bolts to standard torque (reference torque approx. 65 N·m)

    10. Reinstall Disc & Caliper: Reinstall brake disc and caliper, torque to specification

    11. Reinstall Wheel: Reinstall wheel and tighten, lower vehicle

    【Professional Tips】:

    • Rear hub unit does not involve drive torque transmission—no axle nut tightening required

    • Recommended to replace both left and right sides as a pair for symmetric rear suspension performance

    • Use diagnostic tool to verify wheel speed sensor signal after replacement

    • Road test and wheel alignment recommended after replacement
