Important Safety Note:
Rear brake pad replacement involves the EPB electronic parking brake system—a diagnostic tool must be used to release the electronic parking brake (set to service mode) before replacement to avoid damaging the brake caliper.

Installation Steps (General Reference) :
Connect Diagnostic Tool: Use diagnostic tool to set rear EPB to "service mode" and release electronic parking brake
Lift Vehicle: Raise the rear using a lift, remove rear wheels
Disconnect Wear Sensor (if equipped): Disconnect brake pad wear sensor electrical harness connection
Remove Brake Caliper: Remove caliper guide pins, remove caliper and secure to body (avoid straining brake lines)
Remove Old Pads: Remove old brake pads and shims from caliper bracket
Push Back Caliper Piston: Use rewind tool to slowly push caliper piston back to original position
Clean Mounting Area: Clean caliper bracket and guide pins, apply high-temp grease—do not use products that could damage rubber parts
Install New Pads: Install new brake pads (with shims, wear indicators) onto caliper bracket—ensure wear sensor on inboard side
Reinstall Caliper: Reinstall caliper, tighten guide pins to specified torque
Reinstall Wheel: Reinstall wheel and tighten, lower vehicle
Exit Service Mode: Use diagnostic tool to exit EPB "service mode", perform "assembly check" procedure
Brake System Bed-in: Depress brake pedal multiple times to seat pistons, confirm pedal firmness

Must release EPB with diagnostic tool before replacement—do not forcibly push back EPB caliper pistons *
Wear indicator must be installed on the inboard side of the rotor
