Product Description

The front lower control arm is a core load-bearing component of the front suspension system. Installed between the subframe and the steering knuckle, it serves critical functions including bearing vehicle weight, transmitting braking and driving forces, and controlling wheel motion trajectory. According to teardown information, the Destroyer 05 front suspension features a MacPherson strut independent suspension with a double-layer stamped steel welded lower control arm and cast iron steering knuckles.

According to vehicle specifications, the Destroyer 05 features a front-wheel drive layout across all trims, with a MacPherson strut front suspension and dimensions of 4,780×1,837×1,495mm with a wheelbase of 2,718mm. The lower control arm is bolt-on mounted and can be individually removed and replaced. According to service information, the control arm ball joint features a dust boot, with standard ball joint swing torque of 1-3N·m and axial play should be ≤0.2mm (when 850N axial force is applied).

In daily use, the lower control arm is long subjected to road impacts and cyclic loads, making it prone to deformation, bushing aging/cracking, and ball joint wear/looseness – leading to pulling during driving, uneven tire wear, and chassis noise. It is one of the more frequently replaced components in the chassis suspension system.

Our product is strictly developed to original Destroyer 05 OE specifications, with mounting holes, ball joint taper, and bushing press-fit angle precisely matching the original 1:1. According to teardown information, the Destroyer 05 lower control arm structure is the same as the Qin PLUS – both featuring double-layer stamped steel welded construction. Compatible with all 2022-2025 Destroyer 05 models (55KM/120KM range versions, Champion Edition, and Glory Edition).

According to service information, the control arm-to-subframe mounting bolts must be torqued to standard specifications for installation reliability. This product is available in left and right versions for independent purchase and replacement based on the damaged side – no need to replace as a pair.

The lower control arm features double-layer stamped steel welded construction, offering higher structural strength and fatigue resistance compared to single-layer stamped designs. Critical load-bearing areas are reinforced to ensure no deformation under long-term use on complex road conditions. The surface features cathodic electrodeposition primer (E-coat) treatment, passing salt spray testing for excellent corrosion resistance.

According to service standards, when the control arm bushing is worn or damaged, the entire lower control arm assembly must be replaced. Our product includes pre-installed high-quality rubber bushings – no additional pressing required for direct replacement.

The lower control arm features a bolt-on mounting design – can be individually removed and replaced without cutting or welding. This design significantly reduces the complexity and cost of collision repairs. During replacement, note the ball joint taper must be clean and bolts must be torqued to specification – wheel alignment is mandatory after replacement.

Installation Instructions

Tool Preparation:

  • 18mm/19mm/21mm socket wrenches

  • Ball joint separator (specialized tool)

  • Torque wrench

  • Jack or lift

Important Safety Note: Control arm replacement involves suspension component removal – must use ball joint separator, do not strike the steering knuckle with a hammer.

Installation Steps:

  1. Lift Vehicle: Raise front of vehicle using lift, remove front wheels

  2. Separate Ball Joint: Remove ball joint-to-knuckle nut, use specialized ball joint separator to disconnect taper fit

  3. Remove Mounting Bolts: Remove control arm-to-subframe mounting bolts (at points A and B)

  4. Remove Old Part: Remove old lower control arm assembly

  5. Inspect New Part: Check bushing for wear, ball joint dust boot for cracks, ball joint swing for sticking

  6. Clean Mounting Surface: Clean subframe mounting holes and steering knuckle taper hole

  7. Install New Part: Align new control arm with mounting positions, install ball joint taper and subframe bolts

  8. Torque Bolts: Use torque wrench to tighten all bolts to specification

  9. Install Wheel: Install wheel, lower vehicle

  10. Wheel AlignmentWheel alignment is mandatory after control arm replacement

【Professional Tips】

  • Specialized ball joint separator is required – do not strike knuckle with hammer

  • Ball joint taper surface must be clean and dry before installation – do not apply grease

  • Wheel alignment is mandatory after replacement – failure will cause uneven tire wear and pulling

  • Recommended to replace both left and right sides as a pair for symmetric suspension performance
