The half shaft (drive shaft / CV axle) is a core component of the vehicle's drivetrain system. Installed between the transmission differential and the front wheel hub, it transmits power from the transmission to the wheels to drive the vehicle. The shaft is equipped with constant velocity joints (CV joints) at both ends, allowing continuous power delivery even during steering and suspension movement. The Destroyer 05 features a front-wheel drive (FWD) layout with left and right half axles.
According to vehicle specifications, the Destroyer 05 is equipped with the BYD472QC 1.5L engine with a total motor power of 145kW and total motor torque of 325N·m, featuring an E-CVT transmission and front-wheel drive layout . According to drivetrain principles, the half shaft CV joints feature BJ-TJ type constant velocity joints with high transmission efficiency and low vibration noise . The boots are made of high-temperature EPDM rubber pre-filled with high-quality lithium extreme-pressure grease for long-lasting joint lubrication.
The CV joint boots are made of high-temperature and ozone-resistant EPDM rubber, passing high/low temperature cycle testing (-40°C to 120°C). Boot failure is the most common cause of CV joint failure – once cracked, contaminants enter and quickly damage the joint, causing "clicking" noise.
Our product features reinforced boots with stainless steel clamps for reliable sealing. According to repair standards, boots and grease must be replaced when replacing the CV axle. Experience shows that once a CV boot is damaged, the joint typically fails within 2-3 months due to contamination.

Installation Steps:
Lift Vehicle: Raise front of vehicle using lift, remove front wheels
Remove Hub Nut: Pry off hub nut dust cover, remove hub nut with socket
Remove Lower Control Arm Ball Joint: Use ball joint separator to disconnect control arm ball joint from knuckle
Remove Tie Rod: Disconnect tie rod ball joint (if clearance needed)
Remove Half Axle: Pull knuckle outward, carefully pry the half axle from the transmission differential with a pry bar. Protect the oil seal
Remove Old Half Axle: Pull the outer end of the half axle from the hub bearing, remove old half axle
Clean Mounting Area: Clean dirt from transmission oil seal area, check seal condition
Install New Half Axle: Insert inner spline of new half axle into transmission differential – ensure spline fully engages (audible "click"); insert outer spline into wheel hub bearing
Install Knuckle and Ball Joint: Reinstall control arm ball joint and tie rod in reverse order
Tighten Hub Nut: Install hub nut, torque to specification (typically 150-200 N·m)
Install Wheel: Install wheel, lower vehicle
Road Test: Verify no noise and no vibration
