This product is professionally designed for BYD’s popular Ocean Series model—the BYD Destroyer 05, serving as a critical damping component in the rear torsion-beam non-independent suspension system.
As a professional manufacturing factory specializing in automotive chassis suspension parts, our rear shock absorber assembly strictly follows OE specifications, dedicated to providing the global aftermarket with high-comfort, high-durability replacement solutions.
The rear shock absorber assembly works together with the rear coil spring to absorb road impact energy and convert it into heat energy—one of the core components determining rear passenger comfort and driving stability.
Compatible with all BYD Destroyer 05 models (including 2022-2025, 55KM/120KM range versions, Champion Edition, and Glory Edition). According to OEM chassis configuration, the Destroyer 05 features a rear torsion-beam non-independent suspension with tubular hydraulic/gas-charged shock absorbers.
The OEM chassis tuning favors family-oriented comfort with excellent small-vibration filtration—the quality of rear shock absorbers directly affects this performance.
The rear suspension features a torsion-beam non-independent suspension—simple structure, compact, and low maintenance cost.
OEM tuning favors comfort—suspension response over speed bumps is crisp with no residual vibration.
Due to torsion-beam structural characteristics, some yaw may occur on special road surfaces—high-quality rear shock absorbers effectively mitigate this.
Tools Required:
Lift or jack with safety stands
Socket wrench / Combination wrench
Torque wrench
Special shock absorber tool (if required)
Grease
Installation Steps (General Reference):
Lift Vehicle: Raise the rear using a lift, remove rear wheels
Remove Lower Mounting Bolt: Remove bolt securing shock absorber lower eyelet to rear axle
Remove Upper Mounting Bolt/Nut: Remove bolt/nut securing shock absorber top to body
Remove Old Shock Absorber: Remove old rear shock absorber assembly from between body and rear axle
Compare & Confirm: Verify new part matches old in length, mounting hole spacing, and structure
Install Upper End: Install new shock absorber top to body mount, pre-tighten nut
Install Lower End: Install new shock absorber lower eyelet to rear axle mount, pre-tighten bolt
Torque to Specification: Use torque wrench to tighten all mounting bolts/nuts to standard torque
Reinstall Wheel: Reinstall wheel and tighten, lower vehicle
Road Test: Road test to confirm no noise or abnormal bouncing【Professional Tips】:
Recommended to replace both left and right sides as a pair for symmetric rear suspension damping
If shock absorber oil leakage is severe, recommended to inspect rear coil spring condition
Road test after replacement to confirm normal damping characteristics
