Installation Steps (General Reference) :
Remove original spare tire: First remove the security bolt (use the special socket from the trunk), then remove the standard bolts
Remove original mount: The black cover is secured with clips—pry open, remove screws, take off cover; remove three screws on the black bracket to remove it
Remove inner panel: The inner panel is secured with screws and clips—carefully remove without breaking clips. The handle has a cable connection that must be unplugged
Install new mount: Align the new mount with the tailgate mounting holes—pre-install bolts
Torque to specification: Use torque wrench to tighten all mounting bolts to specification
Mount spare tire: Install the full-size spare onto the new mount—install standard bolts first, then the security bolt
Reinstall inner panel: Connect handle cable, install inner panel, align clips and press into position
Function test: Open and close the tailgate—confirm smooth linkage and no rattling
