 Installation Instructions

Tools Required:

• Socket wrench (with extension)

• Torque wrench

• Plastic pry tool

• Cleaning Cloth

 Installation Steps (General Reference) :

1. Remove original spare tire: First remove the security bolt (use the special socket from the trunk), then remove the standard bolts 

2. Remove original mount: The black cover is secured with clips—pry open, remove screws, take off cover; remove three screws on the black bracket to remove it 

3. Remove inner panel: The inner panel is secured with screws and clips—carefully remove without breaking clips. The handle has a cable connection that must be unplugged 

4. Install new mount: Align the new mount with the tailgate mounting holes—pre-install bolts

5. Torque to specification: Use torque wrench to tighten all mounting bolts to specification

6. Mount spare tire: Install the full-size spare onto the new mount—install standard bolts first, then the security bolt 

7. Reinstall inner panel: Connect handle cable, install inner panel, align clips and press into position 

8. Function test: Open and close the tailgate—confirm smooth linkage and no rattling

• Security bolt storage: The special socket for the security bolt is in the trunk—return it to its original position after use 

• Removal/installation sequence: Remove security bolt first, then others; install standard bolts first, then security bolt 

• Extension socket required: Some bolts require an extension socket for reach 

• Handle clips with care: Inner panel clips are tight—be careful not to break them during removal
