Product Description

This product is professionally designed for BYD’s professional personalized brand—the Formula Leopard 5, the brand’s first model, serving as a core crash safety structural component installed behind the front bumper, connecting the left and right frame rails at the front end—the first line of defense in frontal collision protection.

As a professional manufacturing factory specializing in automotive chassis structural parts and safety components, our front chassis frame crash beam assembly strictly follows OE specifications, dedicated to providing the global aftermarket with high-strength, high-precision, high-reliability replacement solutions.

According to Pacific Auto and other platform reviews, the Formula Leopard 5 OEM front crash beam features full aluminum alloy construction with a double-layer structure, each layer measuring 3mm thick, for a total thickness of 6mm. The beam features a "double-row" structural design, offering superior energy absorption, lightweighting, and coverage compared to same-class vehicles. The vehicle is built on the DMO super hybrid off-road platform with a body-on-frame construction, with the main frame using high-strength steel (yield strength 750MPa, tensile strength 800MPa).

Compatible with all BYD Formula Leopard 5 trims (including 2023-2026, Explorer/Navigator/YunNian/Smart Driving versions). According to vehicle data, the Formula Leopard 5 measures 4890×1970×1920mm with a wheelbase of 2800mm, approach angle of 35°, and departure angle of 32°. This product features vehicle-specific design, compatible with original frame rail front mounting positions.

Installation Instructions

Important Safety Note:
The front crash beam is a passive safety component—replacement involves disassembly/reassembly of the front bumper and body structural parts. After replacement, all bolts must be tightened to OEM standard torque; otherwise, the reliability of energy transfer during collision may be affected. Professional body repair technician operation recommended.

Tools Required:

  • Socket wrench / Impact wrench

  • Torque wrench

  • Plastic clip removal tool

  • Cleaning Cloth

 Installation Steps (General Reference):

  1. Remove Front Bumper: Remove front bumper cover assembly to expose crash beam mounting location

  2. Disconnect Sensor Harness: If required, disconnect front radar or sensor harness connectors

  3. Remove OEM Beam: Remove mounting bolts securing crash beam to frame front ends

  4. Remove Old Beam: Remove the old front crash beam assembly

  5. Clean Mounting Surface: Clean frame front mounting surfaces and bolt holes

  6. Install New Beam: Position the new crash beam—align with frame front mounting holes

  7. Install Mounting Bolts: Install bolts—pre-tighten in diagonal sequence

  8. Torque to Specification: Use torque wrench to tighten all mounting bolts to OEM standard torque

  9. Reinstall Front Bumper: Reinstall front bumper cover assembly, reconnect sensor harness

  10. Function Test: Start vehicle—confirm no warning lights

【Professional Tips】:

  • Sensor compatibility: Radar and sensors are mounted on the front bumper—ensure proper function after crash beam replacement

  • Retain OEM tow hooks: OEM front tow hooks feature reinforced design as important recovery points—retain during replacement

  • Bolt torque compliance: As a critical frame connection structural component, bolt torque must strictly follow OEM standards

  • Recommended to inspect front bumper skid plate: The front bumper features a silver skid plate with cutouts—inspect condition when replacing
