Product Description

This product is professionally designed for BYD’s professional personalized brand—the Formula Leopard 5, the brand’s first model, serving as a core precision component in the front suspension and steering system that bears the vehicle’s weight, connects to the drive axle, and enables wheel rotation.

As a professional manufacturing factory specializing in automotive chassis drivetrain systems and precision bearings, our front wheel bearing assembly strictly follows OE specifications, dedicated to providing the global aftermarket with high-precision, high-load-capacity, long-life replacement solutions.

The front wheel bearing assembly (also known as the front hub bearing unit) integrates the hub, double-row angular contact ball bearing, seals, and flange into a single unit—the core load-bearing component of the front-wheel drive system. It must withstand the vertical load of the approximately 2.9-ton vehicle weight, lateral forces during steering, and torque transmitted by the drive axle. Its quality directly affects driving stability, NVH performance, and driving safety.

Compatible with all BYD Formula Leopard 5 trims (including 2023-2026, Explorer/Navigator/YunNian versions). According to vehicle data, the Formula Leopard 5 features front-wheel drive (FWD) / electric four-wheel drive (4WD) layout with double wishbone independent front suspension. This product features vehicle-specific design, compatible with original wheel hubs and knuckle mounting positions.

 Installation Instructions

Important Safety Note:
Front wheel bearing replacement involves disassembly/reassembly of the braking, steering, and drive axle systems—a core chassis safety operation. Ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported before work, and pay attention to torque release when removing the axle nut. Professional technician operation recommended.

 Tools Required:

  • Lift or jack with safety stands

  • Socket wrench / Impact wrench

  • Torque wrench

  • Special bearing press/puller tools

  • Special axle nut socket

Installation Steps (General Reference):

  1. Lift Vehicle: Raise the front using a lift, remove front wheels

  2. Remove Caliper & Disc: Remove front brake caliper and secure to body, remove brake disc

  3. Remove Drive Axle Nut: Use special socket to remove the large axle nut

  4. Remove Tie Rod & Lower Arm: Disconnect tie rod end and lower control arm ball joint

  5. Remove Knuckle & Bearing: Remove the old front wheel bearing assembly from the knuckle

  6. Clean Mounting Area: Clean the knuckle bearing bore, apply proper grease

  7. Install New Bearing: Use special tools to press the new bearing assembly into the knuckle

  8. Reinstall Knuckle Assembly: Reinstall the knuckle, connect drive axle, lower arm, and tie rod

  9. Reinstall Disc & Caliper: Reinstall brake disc and caliper, torque to specification

  10. Reinstall Wheel: Reinstall wheel and tighten, lower vehicle

  11. Torque Axle Nut: Torque axle nut to specification with vehicle on ground

【Professional Tips】:

  • Special tools required: Press-fitting the front wheel bearing requires special tools—do not hammer directly on the bearing to avoid raceway damage

  • Replace as a pair: Recommended to replace both left and right sides as a pair for symmetric steering and suspension performance

  • Wheel alignment recommended: Front wheel bearing replacement involves suspension disassembly/reassembly—wheel alignment is recommended after replacement
