Product Description

This product is professionally designed for BYD’s popular Ocean Series model—the BYD Destroyer 05, serving as a core body glass component that ensures clear rear visibility and occupant safety.

As a professional manufacturing factory specializing in automotive glass and body accessories, our rear windshield assembly strictly follows OE specifications, dedicated to providing the global aftermarket with high-transparency, high-impact-resistance replacement solutions.

The rear windshield is an important component of the vehicle passive safety and visibility system—it not only provides a clear rear view for the driver but also integrates rear window defogger/heating function (defrost/defog) to ensure clear rear visibility in rainy and snowy weather. Its quality directly affects driving safety and ride comfort.

Compatible with all BYD Destroyer 05 models (including 2022-2025, 55KM/120KM range versions, Champion Edition, and Glory Edition). According to vehicle data, the Destroyer 05 body dimensions are 4780×1837×1495mm—the rear windshield features a standard sedan design.

  • The rear windshield is a safety glass component—no regular replacement required under normal conditions.

  • When cracks, damage, or heating line failure occurs, prompt replacement is required. In case of tempered glass spontaneous breakage, recommended to retain glass fragments and contact the manufacturer for warranty claim.

  • Recommended to replace glass seal and adhesive simultaneously to ensure watertight sealing.

 Installation Instructions

 Important Safety Note:
Rear windshield replacement involves body structure disassembly/reassembly and adhesive curing—and the rear glass is typically connected to heating line harnesses—take care to disconnect/reconnect electrical connectors to avoid damaging heating lines. Must be performed by professional technicians in a dedicated workstation. Do not wash the vehicle or drive at high speed for 24 hours after replacement to ensure adhesive fully cures.

Tools Required:

  •  Glass removal tools (wire saw/special cutting knife)

  •  Glass suction cups

  • Caulking gun & special polyurethane adhesive

  • Sealing rubber

  •  Electrical connector removal tool

  • Cleaning solvent

Installation Steps (General Reference):

  1. Disconnect Power: Disconnect vehicle 12V battery negative terminal to prevent heating circuit short

  2. Remove old glass: Use special tools to remove the damaged windshield from inside the vehicle

  3. Disconnect Heating Connector: Unplug the rear window heating line electrical connector

  4. Clean glass frame: Thoroughly remove old adhesive residue, clean the metal frame

  5. Pre-treat new glass: Clean the edges of the new glass, apply glass primer

  6. Connect Heating Harness: Connect the new glass heating line connector

  7. Apply adhesive: Evenly apply special polyurethane adhesive to the glass frame

  8. Install new glass: Use suction cups to carefully position and install the new glass

  9. Adjust and press: Position the glass correctly, press to ensure full contact with adhesive

  10. Install seals and trim: Install windshield rubber seal and trim

  11. Curing wait: Keep vehicle stationary—allow adhesive to fully cure (typically 24 hours)

  12. Function test: Start vehicle—verify rear window defogger/heating function

【Professional Tips】:

  • Do not wash the vehicle for 24 hours after replacement—avoid high-speed driving to prevent impact on curing

  • Avoid emergency braking and rapid acceleration within 72 hours after replacement to ensure proper glass fixation

  • In winter replacement, pay attention to indoor working temperature to ensure proper adhesive curing

  • Ensure the rear window heating harness connector is fully seated during installation—avoid poor contact causing heating failure
